OH GOOD GOD A MUTANT

Audio in MIDI format

Various original musical..composition..things. If you can even call them that. In no particular order.

MIDI - Advanced 6/4 - It's in 6/4 time. Obviously. It started out as a kind of Australian folk tune with a rock bent to it, then it turned crappy. It's repetitive as hell, but some people like that.

MIDI - Arabian Days - Arabian-ish sort of tune. Loosely based on the introductory song from Aladdin.

MIDI - Beside The Sky - This was an experiment using a chord structure dug out of a really old book of piano lessons. It was meant to sound kind of Ben Foldsy, but turned out to be speedy crap that'd fit in with a Japanese cartoon or something.

MIDI - Bloodied Spiderwebs - Written for Miek. He said "Russ, write something piano-ey! One of those pieces that's actually really slow, but the techno drum beat makes it sound speedy!". So I did. And he remixed it.

MIDI - Carcinogenic Monkey Grease - Obviously a tune composed during my "just use random words for a title" phase. This is vaguely inspired by Elliott Smith, particularly the lil rise before the chorus and the general tempo. It has nothing to do with monkeys.

MIDI - Dirty Jazz - Just jazz. Just piano. Nothing spectacular.

MIDI - Done - This was actually written with lyrics, but I can't remember what they are. This is probably a good thing, as my lyrics stink.

MIDI - Evolution - This one also had lyrics. Just messin' with bass, really. Dunno whether this is any good or not, sounded pretty crappy when I wrote it.

MIDI - Guitar 4 - This one's almost alright. It's pretty intense, though. My MIDI synth has some difficulty churning it out. Repetitive, but potentially alright for harmonies or something. No doubt sounds a shitload better on actual instruments.

MIDI - Guitar Jam - Just guitar.

MIDI - Honky Tonk - More like rock than honky tonk. Kind of loosely based on a weird combination of You Sound Like Louis Burdett and any number of songs by Sting. I particularly like the organ part toward the end, and the odd timing of the percussion during the chorus. Altogether, this is one of the better pieces here.

MIDI - Lemon Coloured Glasses - Hokey country crap that wasn't intended to be hokey country crap.

MIDI - Long Weekend - 5 minute 02 second mix - The only thing I've written that's kinda decent. Lyrics and chord chart exist somewhere. Can't be sodded to dig them up.

MIDI - Long Weekend - Edit 4 - Same song, remix. Less strings.

MIDI - Lost - Old-fashioned piano stuff. This had words, too. Lost them somewhere. Or realised they were shite and deleted them.

MIDI - Lullaby For Rozsa - It's a lullaby, although it's kind of morose.

MIDI - My Dog Plays Piano - Also available on mp3! For reasons best known to itself.

MIDI - New 0102 - Corny, corny chud.

MIDI - Organ V2 - Dan likes this one.

MIDI - Over And Out - Piano solo thing's alright. The rest is pish.

MIDI - Pishy Jazz - Pretty crap. Has a bass solo in, though.

MIDI - Should Be Happy - This has lyrics. It also has two time signatures, 4/4 for the verses and 3/4 for the chorus! Go me.

MIDI - Slight - This was originally for guitar, but I changed it to piano. It's kinda twangy.

MIDI - Something 2 - Based on some Elliott Smith stuff.

MIDI - Something's Not Right - Hoppy garage crap.

MIDI - Teh Ahappy Tree Fruut - Utterly ridiculous filename. Otherwise, mostly jazz.

MIDI - The '80s Ate My Sex Appeal - Reeks of about 1986.

MIDI - Trancez - Trancey drug-fucked crap, tainted by unnecessary piano usage.

MIDI - When You Find - This was supposed to be a bit Robbie Williams-ish. Thankfully, it is not so.

MIDI - What Would Miek Do? - This one I'm rather proud of.

MIDI - 2111 - Dunno. Ballady. Interesting piano break.

 MIDI - Cosmic Fart - Farts..in spaaaaaaaace.

MIDI - Piano 212 - Sounds like a Christmas carol.

So. You're reading the bit at the bottom again. how about I suggest some things you could be doing instead? Then, when you get to the end of the paragraph, you can feel vaguely fulfilled and perhaps even go out and do one or all of them? Or you can just think "Hey, he's just knocking off ideas from Monkey Island!", but it's all good in the end. Anyhow, why not wash the car, or buy some groceries? Donate someone's body to science! Invent a new way to varnish wood! Learn a new language! Learn two new languages! Find some bugs! Then race 'em! Kill the losers.
